Columbian Charities of Sierra Vista is a newly formed 501(c)(3) that has been established to provide a facility for the local community and other 501(c)(3) charitable organizations to host fund raising events and other fund-raising opportunities for Cochise County and the surrounding areas. The facility can also be utilized for religious, educational, scientific, and literary seminars, meetings, and other such events. The facility, known as Columbian Hall has an upper hall that can seat approximately 324 guests for dining events and approximately 400 guests for open seating and seminar type events. The lower hall can seat approximately 64 guests for dining events and approximately 80 quests for open seating and seminar type events. The cost for qualifying 501(c)(3) organizations is very minimal. The Columbian Hall is equipped with the latest in Audio Visual equipment technology to satisfy most AV requirements for any event or seminar.
The Columbian Hall also has a 38,000 SF parking lot that can utilized for outdoor type events.
The Columbian Hall will also act as a temporary housing facility during local, state and federal emergencies. The Hall is a 12,000 SF facility with a large commercial kitchen, bathrooms located on both the upper and lower halls and future ADA compliant shower facilities. Based on FEMA and American Red Cross Guidelines for Community Emergency Type Shelters, the Columbian Hall can safety and comfortably accommodate up to approximately 170 people for both short term and long term stay requirements.
Because the Columbian Hall might have to enforce a strict “no pets allowed inside the facility” policy, to the east of the main hall, there is a large 8,500 SF outdoor fenced in area that can accommodate most domestic pets during emergencies.
